“Autumn in San Sebastián – a love story”

Donostia San Sebastián Tourism continues to promote the city as a safe, sustainable and high-quality destination, associating it with values such as wellbeing, nature, cinema and gastronomy. To this end, it is launching the campaign ‘Autumn in San Sebastián – A love story’.

With the support of the Tourism Department of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, a campaign in the purest Woody Allen style is being launched, inviting visitors to create their own story through a range of suggestions and plans that can be consulted at www.sansebastianturismoa.eus
-The campaign aims to maintain the destination’s visibility among a strategic audience in the current context, with a special emphasis on local visitors from Spain and France.
As part of the campaign, interactive routes related to Woody Allen’s film will also be launched.
Since the start of the health crisis, Donostia San Sebastián Tourism has been working to promote the tourist destination as a safe and healthy place, adapting its campaigns, messages and target audience to the changing situation, with the aim of boosting tourism and reviving the activity of local small and medium-sized businesses in the sector, always with safety and responsibility in mind.
Following the two summer campaigns, ‘Breathe San Sebastián’ and ‘This summer I’m staying here’, it is presenting a new campaign for the autumn, with the support of the Tourism Department of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa: ‘Autumn in San Sebastián, a love story’, which will run from 1 October to 30 November.

Travel trends show that, in the current context, tourists mainly travel by car and seek out nature and outdoor activities. In this regard, the campaign will be promoted mainly through online media and will target travellers who can reach the city by car: a local, national and French audience with tastes and interests such as gastronomy and culture.
The campaign makes a cinematic nod to ‘Rifkin’s Festival’, Woody Allen’s latest film, shot in San Sebastián, inviting tourists to live their own story in a city straight out of a film.
On the one hand, it includes a very cinematic promotional spot, with music and typographical resources in the style of ‘Woody Allen’, to show a beautiful city that is ideal for strolling through its most emblematic places, such as La Concha, the Peine del Viento, the gardens of the Miramar Palace, the María Cristina Hotel, the Flysch of Zumaia, Pasajes San Juan, etc.

In addition, a landing page has been created on the website www.sansebastianturismoa.eus with autumn plans, offering numerous plans and activities to do in the city and the surrounding area, with a wide variety of possibilities in nature and the open air. To this end, DSS Turismoa has collaborated with its member companies, small and medium-sized local businesses in the tourism sector, which have launched proposals for visitors. The landing page will be a live site to which new plans will continue to be added.

In addition, as part of this autumn campaign, interactive routes related to Woody Allen’s film and filming are being developed, with the aim of involving citizens and visitors, and these will be promoted through social media.
