“San Sebastián Mode on”

Donostia San Sebastián Tourism launches the ‘San Sebastián Mode on’ campaign and prepares to offer quality service in summer

– Donostia San Sebastián Tourism is once again launching a campaign aimed at local, national and international audiences, encouraging them to discover the experiences and activities offered by small businesses in the sector in San Sebastián.
– 41% of the activities on offer take place in the city and the remaining 59% in Gipuzkoa, although there will also be excursions to the French coast and other Basque capitals.
– Donostia San Sebastián Tourism is strengthening its visitor services team and expanding its range of experiences in the city and the region, in collaboration with its partner companies, all of which are local SMEs.
– A temporary information point will be open on the Paseo de Francia from 1 July to 25 September and the opening hours of the permanent office on the Boulevard will be extended.
Donostia San Sebastián Tourism is preparing for the start of summer, with the aim of offering visitors a quality experience in line with the city’s positioning. To this end, it is extending its visitor opening hours at the Tourist Office, reopening the information point on the Paseo de Francia and, through online tools, preparing a wide range of activities, products and services, both in San Sebastián and in the surrounding area, offered by local companies associated with the organisation, and promoting the destination and its experiences through the ‘San Sebastian Modo on’ campaign.

In the words of the Councillor for Sustainable Tourism, Cristina Lagé, ‘San Sebastián offers a multitude of activities that are available to everyone, both visitors and residents, who have rediscovered our city over the last two years. Activities in San Sebastián and also throughout the region, as we must not forget that we are a shared destination, which contributes to sustainability in all its aspects.’

San Sebastián Mode on

Through this campaign, DSS Turismoa invites visitors to discover all the activities and experiences the city has to offer: museums, guided walking or cycling tours, water and nature activities, excursions, group experiences and private outings.
All experiences are provided by DSS Turismoa and/or local partner companies. These experiences are now available at the tourist office, the temporary information point, and the online shop.

Among its own products are tourist cards (San Sebastian Card and Basque Card, which facilitate transport and offer discounts on the city’s leisure and cultural resources) and tourist transport (tourist bus and train).

Among the activities offered by local partner companies are guided tours, gastronomic experiences, excursions in the surrounding area, seaside walks, sporting and cultural activities, etc.

The Online Shop’s activities also contribute to distributing tourist flows throughout the city and surrounding area. More than half of the products on offer are experiences outside San Sebastián. This decentralisation helps to raise awareness and promote the region’s excellent tourist and natural resources, avoid overcrowding at the same tourist spots, and encourage tourists to extend their stay, thereby increasing the average length of stay.
The campaign will run from 1 June to 30 September in digital and conventional media, such as radio and specialised press, and activities can be booked at www.sansebastianturismoa.eus.
