In 2017 we welcomed in a new era with the passing of the VISIT-BIZI 2017-2021 Master Plan for Tourism in Donostia/San Sebastián. This plan places people at the heart of the project and emphasises sustainability, balance, quality and the authentic nature of Donostia/San Sebastián as a destination, in addition to clearly defining the type of tourism that we seek to attract and the strategic sectors that we wish to promote. The previous 2012-2016 Master Plan focused on two key objectives –
internationalisation and promoting the city as a year-round destination – both which have been successfully accomplished. The figures from the 2017 report, which indicates a gentle and balanced growth in comparison with previous years, prove that we are continuing to move in the right direction.
